Sunshine Coordinator
The position of Sunshine Coordinator is an appointed position (appointed by the President) and therefore is not subject to elections.
The duties of the Sunshine Coordinator are:

Send expressions of sympathy to members who have a death in the family. If the death is a member of the immediate family, flowers are sent ($50 maximum for memorials) otherwise a sympathy card is sent on behalf of the club. |

Send get-well cards to club members, who are sick and/or hospitalized. |

After checking with a family member for permission and wording, notify club members by telephone or e-mail messages when a member is not well or has had a death in the family. Members are encouraged to send personal expressions of sympathy. |

A calling tree is set up and updated periodically so the Sunshine person can call members of the calling tree, who in turn call members on their individual calling lists. |

Oversee the collection of funds for expenses, as may be appropriate, for cards, postage, flowers and memorials (in lieu of flowers). |

Prepare a Sunshine Report monthly for the club newsletter; summarizing what has happened to members. Again, permission must be obtained in advance from the subject families. |
